ConnectiCubFest 2007 - with Photos
OK it's all set.
ConnectiCubFest 2007
May 4th thru May 6th @ Zagray Farm in Colchester, CT.
This will be in conjunction with the QVEA Spring Gas-Up Show.
In order to use your tractor on the farm a $20 Membership (payable to Art Chester) in QVEA will be required and can be purchased on arrival.
The Zagray Farm property is awesome. Check out the QVEA website for more info @ http://www.qvea.org
Art Chester (artc) has provided the following information;
We do a setup day on Wednesday for the grounds, so anytime after that is fine. Most vendor setup is Friday all day, show Saturday and Sunday till 3 pm. We can fit a couple of trailers on show space and the rest in the north field which is unused for this show. Camping; primitive or RV from Thursday-Sunday is no problem. Water to fill RV tanks is available, however no hookups. Porta-potties are on the grounds. I'll get your show area close enough to power (100 foot cord). Campfires OK in a container. Food Vendors are onsite.
There is plow field we turn every year, a mowing area in the north field, sand pits to dig in (Rick-I think Art means you!), Saturday Parade with PA announcer, and farm roads to ride around on as long as a QVEA membership has been purchased. (a small price to pay)
There is a repair shop on the grounds that could be used for Cub workshops, no problem.
Many show and tell type projects can be done under a tent or awning. There are a couple of plywood topped work tables on the grounds that can be commandeered, doesn't matter if they get dirty. It'll work out easily. We have a cub power unit on the grounds, not running. It does not have a clutch or pto, but everything else is there. If you want to get it running as part of the show, we'll pay for parts. Fluids are available. I have always wanted to do an electrolysis demonstration at a show but never could make it happen with all the tasks inherent to preparing our grounds and running a show. Perhaps it's something the group could do. (Cecil has offered an empty tank to start with or I can bring a completed running tank)
QVEA is happy to have the group as part of our show. The general comment was...Bring it on! I'll help out as much as possible. I'll pick out a good area for the group. I'll send a sheet on typical club show rules.
A huge thank you to Art for his help on this. Let's make this a Great Weekend for FarmallCub.com
More details to follow as the date nears.

Heck, Nancy and I were going to be there all weekend anyway.. Lot's of Cubs will only make it better!
For those that have not been to the Zagray farm, all I can can say it's a great place. Big toys for big boys (and some girls too). Art and the rest of the gang are a terrific bunch of guys.
You will not be disappointed. Pray for good weather.

Mr Jeep is right... Art and everyone I met from QVEA are great folks. It really is an awesome place. That setup sounds perfect!
Of course, I can't plan that far in advance... but even just to see the place is sure worth the trip and making a special effort to go so it is on the calendar in INK.
I captured a couple of interesting shots in the back lot last time I was up there.... biggest piston I have ever seen (look at my sunglasses on the pallet) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y40/Bu ... 9Small.jpg
And a birch keeping an old Farmall from getting away:

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

BigBill,
It's very possible that there will be stuff for sale.
If you need something, put a want ad in the For Sale/Wanted forum.
Take a look at the photos from previous CubFests from around the country.
Does'nt matter that your Cub is in it's work clothes.

original cubs are just as welcome as restored cubs at cubfests.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
