Man I've had a blast driving this thing. It has a hand clutch. It's pretty original, came from florida. The sides of the hood are cut out, they are supposed to be fully enclosed. You set way back on it, drives like a jeep. Alot of fun, very hard to back up to an implement, will strain your neck trying to work the hand-clutch.

I don't think the hood is CUT, just that some side panels are missing.

Brandon-You are one lucky SOB! I've wanted one of those since I first saw one at Lebanon,TN in 1996. After seeing the price they bring, I think I can have a few more Cubs and get over it.
Congratulations,Mike
How can you have too many Cubs????

We have 2, one is in primer and almost restored, we're just working the sheetmetal. They are the most fun thing I've ever drove. 5th gear will fly! It feels like your driving some type of sports car, hunkered down behind that cowling. Brandon.

Does that have the same gearing as an H?

John, it's pretty close to the H gearing, but because of the lower tires road speed would be about 14 MPH.

Orchards also had an optional road gear I believe the manual says 17mph. Anyways it's fast. You wouldn't believe how quiet it is. They have no mufflers and only a turn down and about 1 1/2 of pipe then out the hood side. Manifold must be baffled somehow. It's an all-fuel also. I'm going to take it to some tractor shows this summer as is. Brandon.

I'll be there. I took a trailer load of parts last year, my wife and I camped, and we sold out of parts. Really was a great turnout. I saw on #24's website they were holding their show there in conjuction with the festival show. That will be awesome. Dad and I have marked our calendars, I'm going to try to take everything we have down there, because it's just about 25 miles from home. I went out to the garage tonight and dad has torn that orchard all apart. Hopefully he'll have 1 perfect one assembled by then, surely. He bought the 2 to make one super nice one, and then we're going to sell the other for whatever it brings. He has a perfect set of batwings off the other tractor that are super. He bought this tractor out of Florida just to get the rear fenders because someone removed our other set with a torch on both sides. We got these home and found they'd been widened so we have alot of work to do on them, but they at least are workable, and we have something to go off of. Brandon. :D
