buzz saw

Postby Findoggy » Sun Jan 25, 2004 6:00 pm

I recall seeing a post in the past regarding a buzz saw for the Cub, but am unable to find it in the archives. Was this implement made by IH, or another manufacturer? How common are they? Can they still be purchased new, or are they all used? What is a reasonable price to pay for one of these saws? Also, are they mounted on a 3-pt hitch (Does anyone have a picture)? Sorry for all of the questions, but any and all replies would be appreciated. Thank you. Findoggy

Findoggy - here is a picture of Jim Turner's rig I took at Cubarama in 2002. They are available used if you can find one. The price varies. I know where there is one I might be able to get my hands on. Are you interested in one?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Bigdog, I may be interested in the buzz saw depending upon price. Is it out near you? Also, thanks for posting the pictures for me, I appreciate it.

Yes, a guy I know wanted to sell it to me a couple of years ago. I'll try to get ahold of him and see if he still has it & what he wants for it.

Hey Findoggy,

I have a buzz saw just like Jim's that I will be restoring and painting come
spring. I also have an extra blade and the PTO "L" with gears. I do not
have the splined shaft that extends from the PTO on the tractor to the
"L" extension.

This is just info in case you need some parts off it in case you get
a saw with some of the above listed parts missing or broken.

Good luck and welcome.

Do you have the extension housing that the shaft goes through?

Hi Jim,

Yes I have everything "except the splined shaft". This was an extra one that came in the pile of implements with two of the CUBs and I lost the shaft in the 75 mile trip home. B-u-m-m-e-r

I am looking for the pulley that goes on the "L" for other implements.

If you are interested will let you have Mississippi dirt c-h-e-a-p because
I have no need for it.
