Hi,
After beginning a rebuilt on my system I discovered some parts were missing.
I'm in need of: 1. Cylinder block oil strainer
2. Safety valve piston
3. Safety valve spring
4. Safety valve sleeve
I have had some success in finding all but the Safety valve sleeve.
It seems that it is a discontinued part.
The Safety valve piston has to be ordered and cost $40.00 itself.
Do any of you know where would be the best place to try for this sleeve?
I've found most of what I need from CNGCO.
It might be easiser to find a broken unit and just get the parts I need from it.
Thanks,
Ron

I don't know for certain that I need the sleeve and spring, so let's give Ron a crack at it. It's the piston and rod assembly and screen I really need. The small parts are more of a "just in case" thing. Does the piston move at all? As you must know, the assembly must come out of the head end. Maybe when you get feeling better you can try to loosen it by twisting? Maybe this is a job for WD-50?

Thanks for the information!!
If you would be willing to part with any of the parts you have please let me know.
I'm kind of like George in wondering just how much these small parts do.
But, in reading in the trouble shooting section, it describes some problems that may be caused by a stuck sleeve/piston. This sounds like some of the trouble I'm having with my system, and since these parts are missing from my system I'm hoping that this is my problem.
I really hope I don't have the same problem after searching for these parts.
I guess time will tell, it's suppose to have them so we'll see if they make a difference.
Thanks,
Ron

Merlin,
As far as the main piston, it should come out if you push on the connecting rod, and the whole thing come out as an assembly.
I remember smaller pistons I had to make a special tool to pull. One piston/sleeve in particular has an annular groove that can be used for pulling. The tool was a hairpin made from heavy wire with the tips bent outward. I had a picture of it at one time, but it's gone now.

The rest of the parts are not a problem, but the parts Ron named that he needs are 15 258 E, (page 2 group 10), and 351 868 R1, (page 2 group 10). This hole is a dead end in the block with what I am assuming as part number 351 867 R1 still in it, the safety valve piston. Unless that is not what I am looking at at the bottom of that hole. ????

The manual reccomends using a snap ring tool to pull the small pistons. It worked for me by inserting it in the sleeve and holding it expanded as much as possible while twisting and pulling.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
you are part of the problem!!!
