Deep SnowThese pics are being emailed around recently. The email says "They were taken on 01/31/04. It's about 1/2 hour north of Syracuse on NY State Route 11 in Oswego." Anyone want to take their Cub and help out?

Chris,
My NY cousin sent me a picture a few days ago. I can't open yours. Is this one of them? ![]() George Willer

Yes, that is one of them. One of the others has a track hoe sitting up on the snow digging out the road an the third has what looks like a front end loader working with a snow blower on the front.
The first time I saw these pictures, they were reportedly from Montana. I wonder there they really came from.

Briefly went to snopes.com and didn't find anything butt I'm sure that the location isn't where one might think. 3 yrs ago I was out in seattle and I took a trip to the Cascade mountains in June. A park ranger told me they had over 1000 inches that year and my wife took pictures of me standing on 15ft of snow beside the road that had just been cut though a few days before we got there. Driving down the roads the walls of snow looked just like that picture only there were trees stiking out of the snow. I'm talking late June almost July and the temperature was 70degrees. Never experienced anything like it before. Imagine what it must have been like in Jan. and Feb. WOW
During June 2000 my son and I saw a cut similar to the picture in the Olympic Mtns. near the end of the park road, about one mile beyond the visitor center. As explained to us at the time, the record making snow accumulations occurr about 100 miles east of there in the Northern Cascades. So, unless it is EZ's driveway, or Oswego, then it may be around Mt. Baker.
I think you are right about the car being added. I wonder if what looks like tire tracks with chains are actually a walking snowblower track. Look at the footprints along each of the "tire tracks". "The Constitution is not an instrument for the government

Joe- Thats exactly where we were and I think it was 2000 that we were there come to think of it. Didn't have digital camera then butt took lots of pics. I'll have to try and dig up some photos to see about scanning or having digitals made. It was an unbeleivable site. It looked just like that photo everywhere we went. I never saw the machine that cut through. Bill
Snow and more snowI'm not sure if these photos were taken in Oswego county, but it is possible. We are at the mercy of the lake effect snow off Lake Ontario. At this time our total snowfall for the season is over 150" and the possibility of reaching a total for the year of over 200". The cub is tucked in the barn, starting a total restoration and the snow removal duties have been passed on the the MF50 with a pto snowblower. In the neighboring town there have been 6 barns with collapased roof. I had to shovel the house and the barn roofs. Hmmmm I wonder ifI build a ramp if I could use the cub to remove snow from the roofs.
