If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

RedNed,

Lookin' real good.
I'm at "engine off" right now. Stripped all the old paint off, looks like new.
Did you do any work to the engine?
Did you spray the engine with the head and the pan on?

Looks like good quality paint job.

Thanks cub buddys. Stripped the block with paint stripper.Washed it with mineral spirits, stuck it a big sonic tank. Bubbled it up clean. Check the bore out.Had a nice lip on the edge, about .010. I thought..Put new std ring in to see ring end gap about (+-) .045 :roll:I decided to bore out to .020..New piston and rings .20..#3 and 4# still did not clean up all the way just a slight mark left on top.Could have went .040. I have to read my mic. better. As with all my parts on this cub.I painted each part by itself. Great idea, looks good. But the drawbacks are the paint chips.CNH 2150 with hardner added.Just one lock washer tears up the paint.Heres another pic.A special thanks to Jim Becker ( I put cork in the clutch housing) I thought they were Broken bolts when I started this Extreme makeover. http://www.hpphoto.com/servlet/LinkPhot ... c8&size=lg

DonnyM,

I just used paint stripper, alot of elbow grease, and a couple different wire wheels. I've got the whole engine to bare metal. On order are all the replacement gaskets, new rod bearings, front oil seal for the replacement timing cover, rebuild kit for the hyd. unit, etc.......all parts are from IH dealer in Southern Ontario. I'll be pecking away at this one for a while. I figure once I get the engine done the rest of it will be a walk in the park. Just a lot of paint remover and elbow grease. I'm looking at picking up a paint sprayer from Princess auto to do the CN Orange color. Rudi can't wait to see the finished product, and I don't want to let him down.

EZ,

Rudi's not the only one. Sounds like you're well on your way. For your sake I hope your shop is heated.

Good luck
