Split front wheel weights on ebay

Postby cub1 » Tue Feb 17, 2004 8:26 am

I was flipping through ebay and saw a pair of split front weights for a Cub. It says they go on the inside of the wheel. Does anyone have info on them ? They are item # 2596865617 on ebay. It looks like they are out of my price range but would like to have some information on them.

He must think they are made of gold for whatever his selling price ends up at.

The bid is up to $305.00 and (Reserve not met) yet.

Rudi:, Your figure of $100.00 sounds reasonable but I dont have a clue as to what they cost new or where you would get them. I bet if I drove around my countryside here I could find a whole junk Cub with weights on it for half of what the eBay seller wants.

Many things on Ebay get artificially ran up by the seller's bodies. I've known people who do this. By the way hows about that PTO converter at $808.00. A person really could have bought a whole tractor with standard PTO. I hope that wasn't a real sale. I once saw a Ford tractor hi-lo tranny go from $300.00 to over $900.00 in the last 5min. a couple of years ago. Makes ya wonder!

Talk about "Tractor Scam"

I wouldn't buy anything from ebay except for maybe a "buy it now" at a resonable price and only if I couldn't find it anywhere else.

One never knows what goes on behind the scenes. The phrase "buyer beware" pretains now more than ever thanks to ebay.

Just my opinion

Would be nice iffin somebody could loan a set to a foundry to have copys made. couldn't cost as much as those on ebay. It's up to $350.00 now. Oops, I forgot, all the foundrys moved to China. Maybe some should tell them there are hundeds of Cubs over here looking fot the "rare' weights

Up here in Minnesota, I have never seen a set of split front weights for a Cub. In my opinion they are rare. Especially since IH is not making them anymore and there is no more IH. But, I do believe that anything over 150 bucks is too high!!!
