Last year CUB (1979)

Postby tobaccofarmer » Thu Feb 26, 2004 10:09 pm

I am looking at a 1979 CUB the last year they were made, and I would like some feedback on this machine? they are the so called" NEW INTERNATIONAL CUBS" any difference ? the book written by Ken Updike states that the horsepower is increased, is this a bad thing? well any input would be appreciated, also what is the real deal behind the color's this one happens to be yellow and white, but I have heard that some last cubs were red? any ideas?

To add to what I said on the other site, I don't think the power difference was that big a deal either way. Cubs were available in either yellow or red for many years.

I would say "if the Cub looks good and fits you needs, go for it!!"

I love the look of the old red ones but I have seen a couple of the white and yellows restored and they are darn sharp! Plus if you are going to be "using" it the little boost in HP is a good thing.
