PTO advice needed

Postby Dennis (51) » Sun Mar 07, 2004 6:32 pm

My Cub came with a belt pully adapter on the PTO. Now i want to hook up a mower and need to reconvert to a standard PTO. What do I need to do the job?

I checked the TM Tractor Parts website and it appears that a "pto shaft oil seal & bearing retainer" is all I'll need. Am I correct? Any advice from the masters?

Dennis,

If I understand your question right... just simply un-bolt the right angle drive and put it aside. You will have to replace the bolts. The pulley drive is a self-contained unit.

George, I never thought it would be that simple. I'll give that a try tomorrow. BTW, I've officially declared the end of Winter in Virginia by removing the tire chains. Still got the snow blade on cuz they're predicting some "flurries" next week. Keep your fingers crossed...

I was going to remove my chains from Ellie this week as well. Snow seemed to be going and spring was to finally arrive.

Oooops   spoke to fast :!: Rained yesterday for about 5 hours then it turned to ice and to snow last night. I now have 2 foot drifts in the shop driveway, although we only have about 3 inches down in total. Winds were pretty high. Lost power today for 3 1/2 hours as well.

Sooo, I guess I will be keeping the chains on for a while longer

Rudi,
Life is tough sometimes. It would be a lot tougher if we didn't have Cubs.
