Oil leaking out of the speed sensor

Postby tobaccofarmer » Fri Mar 12, 2004 8:21 pm

My loboy is equipped with a tach guage, and where the cable connects to the engine there is oil leaking out, and when the cable is connected it makes its way all the way up through the cable to the guage and makes a mess with oil? My question is there supposed to be oil coming out of that area, and where would a seal or gasket be located to aleviate the problem?

I don't have a parts list showing that particular set up, but I believe the seal on the governor shaft (distributor drive) should be keeping engine oil out of that area.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
