colourYes my loboy serial # 16878 is yellow and always has been yellow, I read in that cub book by Ken Updike that right around your serial # and inbetween mine IH decided yellow and white was more appropriate I just dont know exactly the serial # break where the colour change took place? I should read that book again and maybe its in there? I would like to know too! If there is yellow underneath your red, then I would assume yellow on yours, but who knows?
Ralph, I think Blackie needs a partner in yellow & white!

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that! http://www.cubtug.com
I have a 62 LoBoy in the same situation. I made the mistake of expressing my opinion that it would look nice in yellow and white. My lovely wife told me if it gets a yellow paint job, it gets sold. Therefore, it gets a red and white suit instead.

I made the statement a while back that I would like to aquire a yellow and white loboy.........WRONG
"I don't like that color...why do you want that color? I like the red ones better". So, if I am to continue buying cubs and stay in good with the wife, looks like I'll be gettting more red. "Never forget where it is you come from, or you may find yourself someplace you don't want to be"

Paint it yellow & white. If the S.O. (significant other) complains, tell them the yellow/whites are the rare high $$$ value industrial model. If that thinking fails to impress them, say that the yellow/white painted ones are like the red/white ones, cept they are not ripe yet........
If you still can't persuade them, just paint it red/white and have the S.O. buy you a nice dinner or take you on a romantic tractor ride. Cub Cadets....Engineered for people who know better!
How is the tractor broken down into white and yellow? Is the gas tank hood white? Are the doglegs white?
I have a 61 that is yellow all over, but I really don't want to go back that route, but don't want something that looks hokey. Sam "Preacherman" Fowler

yellow lo boysI have a 1962 lo boy that is all original yellow. What was the most common color for the lo boys in '62? Seems like I have seen more yellow ones than red ones? Harold
