Oil Gauge for 48 Cub

Postby Steve Ruddy » Sun Mar 21, 2004 12:10 pm

Is the top oil gauge an orignal style for the 48 Cub? If so where can I get one? The one on the bottom is what Carter and Gruenewald sent me.

Thanks

The bottom one I believe is correct for the 48 model, although the one on my 1955 cub reads in lbs. up to 40 lbs. with no red and white color on the face. The top gauge is not an IH gauge, I believe that is a Stewart Warner gauge.

The lower one is probably as close as you will find today. It has a clamp attached to the back side. The original would not have had the studs for holding the clamp. The studs can be cut off leaving a little nub from each stud.
