Belt length forWoods 42

Postby Florida74 » Sun Mar 21, 2004 11:14 pm

I bought a #1469 Woods belt for my 42 in. mower on a 1974 Cub installed by the dealer in 2000. Belt seems to be too short. I have a 10" pulley on the mower, 7 5/8" on the pto and (2) 7 1/2" pullies on the back cross member. After realizing the new belt was too short, I measured the old belt - 139". Mower is mounted on the middle hole ( total of 5 holes ) on the back cross member. Any ideas on why ? Pully too large ? Guess I'll return it for a longer woods belt. Thanks, Lee

Are your adjustments all the way up? The 2 pulleys beneath the pto should slide vertically approx. 10 inches or so.
