trans. gearhitting another?
have a cub that makes a noise in first and reverse, sounds like gears hitting each other, but not in second or third. anyone else had this problem before? Now have tractor split and hate to put it together again without repairing the problem.

Check your first / reverse slider gear. Sounds like you may have a chipped or broken tooth.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

gears hitting together
tglass,
I agree with Bigdog....when I got my Cub, 2nd and 3rd had clatter in them. After we split her, we found a tooth missing.
