CUB GASHello again and thanks for your help.
Please tell me the best fuel for my '49. Octane 87, 89, Hi Performance? Any lead sustitute additives I should know about? Thanks Mike
I use regular unleaded in Ellie-Mae - she seems to like it -- 87 Octane.

Like Rudi, I run regular unleaded. I do add a few ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil to each tankful though. I suspect that's more for my benefit than the tractor's. (peace of mind)

Sure wish I could get some Marvel. Have looked and called every distributor I can think of and none of them have heard of it, least of all carry it Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Sure do - got two of em! Two largest in the Maritimes to boot. Unfortunately, they never heard of it either! Different supply chain. Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Rudi,Them yokels better call corporate or the Red Bluff store and get some learnin about MM-Oil and stock it on there lube shelves. Tell`em to put a rush on it too cause you need it yesterday!!!.
I have talked to our local manager about items desired and he got them for me. Dont remember what it was now but I am sure it wasn`t my memory cause I cant find that on the shelf either. Then came Bronson
mltiema, I use the middle grade unleaded in my cub (working tractor for the last 15 years) with no additives. I do put a can of Sea Foam in the gas once or twice a year. The reason for the middle grade rather than regular is it doesn't seem to foul the plugs as bad.

I asked the Forum the same question last fall - and got the same response- at the time I was using premium unleaded mixed with BW CD-2 lead additive. I had been doing that for about 11 years and the tractor ran good; however, now I've switched to running 87 octain unleaded with no additive and found that the tractor seems to run about the same with no Ill effects. I've noticed slightly less power on hot days; but, no knocking or dieseling.

I think I just might go to our Wal-Mart and knuckle onto the manager. It sure would be nice to have some commonality between US and Canadian stores. Will let you know what happens, if I am successful then maybe other Canadian Wal-Marts will stock it Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship
