c-3 mower spindle bearing number

Postby cjpenny89 » Mon May 03, 2004 7:48 am

I am going to rebuild my bearing spindles on my c-3 mower and I was hoping to find the bearing numbers for the spindle so I can have them before I tear them down. does anyone have the part numbers?

Chad,

I have a copy of the manual but no part's list.

Probably a call to Case/IH dealer will make a long search and short one.

My local NAPA had most of the common TIMKEN #'s available.

Others will probably know more.

Chad, Jim Hudson just mentioned doing this to a C-2 spindle. (ATIS list) He didn't mention any bearing numbers, but they should be readily available at NAPA or similar location.

Here's a quick bearing conversion chart:

IH part # 463911R91..........brg cone..............L44643 Timken
IH part # 572564R1...........brg cup/race...........L44610 Timken

The bearings from IH are reasonably priced and are Genuine Timken brand too.

I got the complete US made bearing assembly from Carquest under the part number of "A-14" for about $8.00 each. The seal part number is National 471750.

thank you very much guys! that is the same part numbers that my sun master clipper "KUB KLIPPER" 60" mower uses. best thing about that is I can walk into autozone and buy a timken wheel bearing kit for $10 and it has both bearing and cones and the seals are stock items here at work and all I have to do is pay the parts room for them.
thank you again!

Chad, do you have a part number for the Timken bearing set that you get from Autozone?

well its been a while since I bought one 2 summers ago. I went in asked for the same numbers as was said above and the guy looked it up and he walked out to the shevles and he grabbed a bearing kit. It had timken bearings in it. I guess just look by the trailer stuff. I will look today at lunch if I get a chance.
