My recollection of them was they were used indoors, mostly in foundries to carry the mold sand. Frank

In the tiff (barrite) grinding plant I worked in while going to college it was standard practice to sen the new guy out with it hauling a scoop full of the scrap rock to the stock pile, where it was later hauled off for roads. The little loader had standard tires, not ags on it, and when it hit the pile of loose gravel would bury itself. They would wait about 20 or so minutes and send the big loader out to scoop it up and bring back to solid ground. One new guy surprised them though, and as they were starting out he met them driving back.

the guy who had it changed the tires to ag's in the hope of using it for snow cleanup. but it's setup like a small forklift - not to be used anywhere soft. he said it didn't perform well for snow duty. looks cold too!
i think it's only going to be a drive around toy on our dirt roads.
the price is right.
doesn't look to be very OSHA complient with the operating loader arms so close to the operators arms, shield or no shield

initial check out results a couple weeks ago. it's a Waukesha 4 cylinder of about 164 cu in. 1950's vintage
compression test 0 - 0 - 0 - 0. must have stuck valves. but all 4 cylinders? odd
no spark.
black goo in choke, throttle plates gummed up, gas tank smells yummy - more black goo in the bottom.
removed carb, manifold, and tappet covers.
valves in proper place - nothing stuck now i'm confused. black goo in intake manifold. crank engine and all four intake valves stay open - and then slowly return to their resting place. the goo is making them very sluggish.
sooo, cleaned gas tank, carb, intake manifold, and intake ports in engine (using brake cleaner sprayed in and fingered around). new filter, cleaned sediment bowl, filed points.
retest compression 100 to 110 all cylinders.
the wiring is junk so a clip lead 12 volts to the coil and a selonoid setup direct to the starter and......
she runs nicely!

I used one of them, propane powered in foundries in OK and NY. They are short and stubby, but on concrete floors, and in tight quarters, they are a cool little machine
