I am looking at tractors for the antique pulling club here in STL. I saw a 1950 WD-9 for sale on YT mag. Are these W-series the bruisers of the Farmall line?

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

They take it pretty serious too out here in the Canyon Country.

Here in my tri-county area, there is really only one club that does most of the church picnics and the county fair. Although, it does get pretty competitive internally! We currently have a '41 Farmall H and a '48 Gibson H in competition. I just like the looks of the big boys. I should get my Cub out there, since the only other tractor in the class is a John Deere LA. I like the antique pulls a lot better than the hot rods. Talk about needing deep pockets!

A former president of our antique tractor and engine club once said: "There are two types of antique tractor pullers, cheaters and losers."
These guys are serious; domed pistons, modified cranks. I have heard of a "M" that has concrete around the liners and only runs water in the head.
There is a JD that doesn't sound like a put-put due to engine mods.
Best,
Mike
