Hydraulics on Farmall HCan I install The lift all hydraulic setup on a 1948 Farmall H that does not have it, and if so what is required. Correct me if I have the term "lift all" incorrect. Also in my research, it seems that it mounts on the distributor drive.

The liftall was the belly mount pump and resorvoir that ran off the transmission.. the one on the ditributor was a live hydraulic system.

dsistributor drive one is best, it is a live system, meaning anytime the engine is running the hydraulics work. On the liftall the clutch has to be up. I believe you will need the front casting and maybe timing gears form a Super H or 300 to use the distributer drive one though.

Great, so it's possible then, and practical, to add hydraulics to an H. Guess I am used to and like having the hydraulics on my '49 Cub. Would like to have hydraulics on this H if I do indeed purchase it, which I probably will.

By the way John, being in Missouri, did you get any of the ice storm that devistated us here in Oklahoma? We were without power from Sunday evening till Friday evening. Did not realize how much I liked modern convienence till last week!

It will work, but the belly pump hydraulic system is low pressure(600 to 1000p0unds depending on age and condition), so it will be limited in what it can lift.

Dont know what pressure mine is, (probably low), but at one time it had a Horn Hyd. loader on it and worked fine, so I would think a 3-pt should be ok too.--does your 3-pt have 1 or 2 hyd. cylinders on it? ---the one I put on my Super M-D,and later switched to the 560 has 2 cylinders on it, that also makes a difference! thanks; sonny
I have an H with the live hyd mod. I also operated my H for a couple of yrs with a Saginaw 3pt and the liftall. It will work fine on the liftall and lift absolutely anything you want. No limits there at all. If you go that way there are some plumbing details to make it fully functional. If you elect to go live (approx. cost $300-$400) you can make the H as versital as a new tractor. Mine currently has the live power, dual remotes, and a power top link. The hitch also has down pressure. Its a great setup!
