Short sickle bar mower???
I picked up a short sicklebar mower with a Cub a while back. I think it is a regular bar that has been shortened?? Any ideas what it may have been made for? Is this a common practice? Thanks for any enlightenment. Harold in CT

Harold,
How many sections does it have? They were made in two lengths, with either 18 or 20 sections. I have one of each. Is yours shorter?

short sickle
I'll have to look and reply later. On another note, my pumpkins are sprouting nicely! I hope I didn't put them in too early here in CT. Do deer or woodchucks like pumpkins? Harold

I believe there was a 4 1/2' and a 5' version.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Harold,
most pumpkins are done in 120 days that I know of. If you want them for Halloween you may be just a tad early. Pumpkins LOVE fertilizer, so the more crap you can get in the soil the more they'll like it! Oh, and lots of water too. If you can keep the critters from munching them there's the darn insects to contend with then. The 2 that we get around here are the vine borers and the squash bug. Have fun!
