I am hoping that we have a cubfest close to me this coming year, I need lots of things for my old gal.

I would be happy to just grow enough vegetables for my family, but I will need cultivators, a disc and a plow, and who know what else?

The only implement I have right now is a old A-C manure spreader, not even sure of the model. I wish it was one of those front unloaders, those look very cool!

I have never had cultivators, this will be my first year. and I only have 3/4 of a set. missing left front

I own 10 acres and lease another 40 acres in northern Michigan. I pant nearly 5 acres of food plots twice a year and enjoy that more than the hunt I think!!

2 3/4 acres. 2 in pasture 3/4 in yard. I have transplanted lots of wild asparagus and have a good stand of rhuebarb. There are two fertilizer producers in the field and the PO had a 12x30 chicken coop he never cleaned out in 25 years It's a couple feet deep and all dried out now.

This year I am going to plant all of my vine plants-peas, beans, tomm., peppers etc.. In hanging pots. I got over 100 at the flea market. They are easy to weed and no bending to pick and the fruit dont get lost on the ground. Also no rot from sitting on wet ground.

I have 2 acres in south east ma. Also have 41 acres in Maine and that is where I like to be. Working on clearing some land in Maine so that I can plant some food plots for deer. When my super A is done I am going to put it to work in Maine. I am on a hunt for implements for the cub and super A so that I can do some farming.

Almost the same but less acreage here 2.25 lot with a 50 X50 garden sure would like more land but my spot is like the ponderousa compared to the 1/4 acre that I grew up on ........ I do envy you guys with the big acreage......

I have 5 acres of desert which turns into 5 acres of weeds this time of year. I have three greenhouses that I grow most of our vegetables in. I also have 20 acres in Ohio that I hope someday to retire to.

The estate my grandparents left behind was just shy of 500 acres. It has been in my family for generations, and over time married off until what we have today. It was decided a long time ago that 2/3 went to my uncle and the other 1/3 or so to my mom. You'd have to see the layout to understand why..... a long long time family friend has leased most of it for many years(Steve Godwin). My uncle keeps up the hay for the most part while farmer Steve plants the rest in cotton/soy/corn/wheat/oats/millet. There's plenty of work to keep dad and I occupied on the cubs , and all the privacy you could ask for. Having a place to go to and spend time outdoors is something I DONT take for granted. How can people not enjoy the outdoors????

We've got 1.1 acres, of which about a quarter acre is in house and lawn. We keep a vegetable garden mostly for ourselves. My wife is a daffoholic, and grows over 300 varieties of daffodils on about a quarter acre. She's also a flower show judge. She's very serious about her flowers. We don't make any money but we enjoy living here.

we have 4 acres, some woods, mainly meadow, we own probably 2 of it but i cut about 4 acres. 1 is my BIL, the other is my MIL. more seat time . i want to try a smll garden this year, mainly corn and beans. we'll see.

Em and I have 25 acres just inside the city limits... Yupper 25 acres in the city... gotta like that. We have about 3-5 acres that is arable right now, and about 1.5 to 2 acres that are actually used. I am happy just to be able to feed Em and I, Duane and Kristina who are still at home, Sammy at school but in an apartment, Sabrina in St. John and of course, Amanada, Clay and Abbigail. Our extended family is all part of our growing strategy including Em's parents. So if we can feed all of us with the green veggies, sweet corn, salad fixin's, taters for the year, squash, pumpkin, zuchinni, eggplant and all the other yummy stuff that costs a fortune in the store, then I am way ahead. Another benefit is we know what is on our produce, and we can avoid much of the preservatives and other chemicals that is present in store bought stuff. I never could understand why mushrooms in cans are imported from China, when we have mushroom farms right here... or have to bring in tomatoes from Mexico, or better yet, ship our local tomatoes to Vancouver so we can ship theirs here.... it totally amazes and irritates me at the same time.

When we had our birds and such, we never made any money but we certainly ate well, knew what was in the food we ate and saved a lot of money to put other places that were important but lower on the list. We just like to be independant and self reliant. If we can do that, along with harvest our heating materials, enjoy our fish and get to harvest a few of them yearly we are way ahead of the game all around. I really think that we are saving literally thousands a year and that is almost equivalent to a third income.. so that is good.

It is all in how one looks at things. My Cubs are therapy for me.. and that is their primary purpose.. to keep me healthy. However, they also provide so much for the family in terms of the work that they do (when they are running that is)..., the produce that they help to provide, the home heat that they help to harvest, haul and size... they really are indispensable.

But after the physio and intellectual therapy, all the other stuff is well just gravy.

Oh, I guess we are doing well enough that my brother-in-law is now growing a garden. We are moving into work sharing mode now... so that is a huge plus.... well for me.. more seat time.

We've got a little under 40 acres. Probably about 1/4-1/3 of it is woods or water and the rest is a field that we farm for hay. It's been in our family since before the Civil War and is all that's left of about 200 acres.

Unfortunately, our huge city of 3500 has decided it needs a bypass and will probably take us out.
