What would be a reasonable price to pay. It fits an H

It appears to be an IH Little Genius,. Check for wear on the trail wheel and pivot, that are the places that wear fastest. If they are good, it is worth minimum of $50, to $250 depending on prices in your area. They are good plows, but are rapidly becoming collectors items. I have rolled many acres of sod with one behind Dad's H (now mine, thanks to many generous members of this board)..

Id say John is right no i would say 200 is in the area, the only thing that is missing is the coulters, that may work into a barging point though?

The fellow wants 250.00

I'm not sure what coulters are. I am a greenhorn when it comes to farming. That's why I am asking so many questions. I grew up on a small farm, but didn't have any interest in farming until recently. It's funny how you go back to your roots. I wish I had paid more attention back then.

The coulters are "disks" that are in front of the plow that cut the sod so the furrow will turn over easier, i 2 plow on is a JD 2 14" on steel pretty much the same as the IH plow you have there, and a fast hitch 2 14" plow i have dont use the coulters on mine. However they do help if your plowing up sod, if you just plowing ground that has been turned before you good to go. As for the price its not horrible looks to be in good sape in all, but id say that id sell you a JD plow for 125 lol

$100.00 tops yep!!I have a 2 bottom on rubber tires with the coulters.Wheels are rusted out though.Still looking for them.Paid $100.00 for it nice rig and did plow my garden up last fall.Kevin

I'v got one just like it, I think I payed like 40 bucks for it, maybe... at an auction where everything went for nothing... I got 4 18' trailer loads of ooold equipment for 350 bucks or less... I'd say 250 is really high, I agree with the others, probably 100-150 around here...

From what I've seen, there is a fair demand for 2 bottom plows like this. As they get bigger, the demand drops off pretty quickly. It is possible to buy one for $40 or $50, but it is sort of like finding the $300 Cub. Some guys are happy to find a plow for a "good" price -- that only needs a couple shares. Of course, when you finally find shares that fit, they set you back $100 each.

Bottom line, condition is everything. Check for wear on the wheels and bearings. Does the trip/lift mechanism work? Most importantly, what shape are the bottoms in? Is there decent thickness to the moldboards and landsides? Are the shares still pointed or worn to a dull stub? (Ask Peter Person about his exepience with plow shares.) Can't tell too well from the picture, but the one share that partly shows looks pretty good. If the plow is in good shape with nice wear parts on the bottoms, $250 may not be a bad price.

That plow isn't a Little Genius, it's an Little Wonder Tractor Gang Plow No.4 (Two- Furrow) (10",12" and 14" Bottoms)
I'm looking at the manual for that plow right now. built 3-22-43

Nope, looks like a #8 Little Genuis to me. I'm not familiar with a #4, but #1, 2 and 3 Little Wonders all had an optional tail wheel. It did not pivot and had no tie-in to the lift mechanism. When lifted, the tail of the Little Wonder was held off the ground by a connection from the hitch to the frame.
