Super A in primer today, two push rods look bent?

Postby spaceghost » Mon Feb 25, 2008 12:16 am

Sent a lot of time on the Super A this weekend. Finished the sand blasting and shot the primer today. Took off the valuv cover today and two push rods look bent ( I think they are called push rods?)

Turn the engine over till the push rods have slack in them and spin the rod by hand, you can then tell if they are bent

I agree with Dave. It might just look bent because it is holding the valves open right now and with the rocker arm in the up position it pulls the push rod closer to the inside.

I bought a Super A with a bad motor. When I pulled the valve cover I had several bent pushrods. I striatened them and put them back in. Still did not run, but it has bigger issues than pushrods
