My effort to restore my '50 model to 6v is well underway. I have all components with the exception of a wire harness. Carter & Gruenewald list a 4-wire, 7-wire or 8-wire. I have serial #114646, which I believe was after the switch to the distrubutor. I will have front and rear lights. Which harness would be required?
Thanks

Well, it didn't have anything left of the original electrical system, not even the lights, so I don't know how it came from the factory. I assumed it had a voltage reg., so I got that. 2 prong push-pull kill switch, because it appears that the distributor on it is original. As far as a ground wire to the lights.....dunno.

I'd never looked at the H and M changeovers. Based on these numbers the M was done considerably before the others. The M would have been about mid-year '49. That H number is more than half way through '50.
Super A changed at 286222, which is also more than half way through '50. The Cub changeover was a few months after the Super A.
