Super A Year?

Postby jbaker » Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:59 pm

The serial number plate is missing on my super a, I have several casting codes 6832-DA,8638-Da,6342 DB on the engine block and 9 27 J on the right side of the torque tube. Can anyone tell me the year of my tractor?

That is not a Super A engine block. From the limited infromation you have provided, it looks like about a 1940 Farmall A. Look on the right side of the engine block, about below the #1 spark plug. You should find a stamped in engine number, should start with "FAAM".

J Baker

The letter J that was on the torque tube is a IH casting date code. Jim Becker is right it is a 1940.
