Allen, I hope you also paid attention to how the book said to grip the crank. Do NOT wrap your thumb over it. They can kick back and when they do it can be destrutive if you aren't gripping the crank correctly.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Allen:

No, I am not hawking parts for David ok :!:  :D

BUT - you will find that having a hand crank is probably one of the most useful tools for timing your Cub. I know - been there , done that, bought 4 T-Shirts ok :!:   I used to turn the fan blades by hand - pain in the butt - got me a hand crank from Jamie and it was so much easier after that - needed it too, cause I must have tried 30 or 40 times to get it timed right... and NO DON"T ASK :!:

So ifn ya gotta chance, get one.

JB: see ifn you can cancel the order cause the crank with a horizontal pin is kinda useless - then call David....

Yep, paid attention to the "grip method" too. Although the old timer I was watching all day wasn't gripping it that way, I kept my mouth shut. It's his tractor, and his thumb!
