Hi all,
I was driving to work the other day a came across this girl sittin along side the road. She is in pretty good condition. 1962 is what the gentleman told me. It comes with a sickle bar, extra knifes for sickle bar, hay rake, some type of pull behind wagon, and a fast hitch. All the lights work. I do believe it is a 12 volt system. The tires are all good. Haven't heard it run yet. The guy says perfect though. It sat in someones auto mechanic's garage for some time so it has this dirt all over it . He sprayed alot of it off. Looks like the greasey dirt protected the paint on it. He thought the value would be beween 2000 and 2500 so he said he would sell it to me for 2250.

I have a 1967 loboy. It isn't as pretty but runs well. It needs rear tires. I have a 59in belly mower and snow plow for it.

Here is my questions. Is this a good price for this tractor? If I sold the attachments separately what would they be worth? (sickle bar and hay rake). What do you think my tractor (1967) would be worth with no attachments?

I'm trying to figure out if I can buy it and then sell my tractor and a few attachments and get my money back. I would be keeping my belly mower and my snow plow.

Hi BillyGoat!

I was in your neck of the woods in PA two weeks ago visiting my parents in Hampton Township north of Pittsburgh! You are in a pretty nice area that hasn't gotten "too" developed yet. Here is hoping that it continues that way for ya!

As to the value of the tractor, I would say that the price he is asking is just right to fairly cheep. If the tractor runs and is even "fairly" leak free, then you are in the chips. The trailers, if original IH equipment can bring a good price in and of themselves. The rake, without seeing it is hard to price. As to a bare tractor price, I have seen that style Cub sell for 1200 - 1500 range with no attachments, but I have also seen them sell in the 800 - 1200 range, too...

That is a nice set-up, though!

I would think that it is priced about right. If you could get it a little cheaper go for it. If he told you it was worth $2000 to $2500, he would likely let it go for $2000. Depening on the other things you mentioned, you may have a steal on your hands. As for what yours is worth, without seeing it I would hate to guess. I do not see how you culd get hurt if you buy it.

That is not a bad price with the equipment. I would try to get it for $2000.00 but if you can get it for that I would go for it.

Hi Mike. It is a nice area to live in. I used to hang out in Hampton Twp with my friends when I was a teenager. Development is creeping closer and closer to us. Cranberry twp is growing so fast it is starting to swallow areas around it. The price of land around here is getting ridiculous. I saw someone selling 2 acres for 80k the other day. I don't know who has all the money but they are starting to price the little guys out of this area. We haven't been hit with the slow down in the housing market like some areas have been. Westinghouse is moving a plant here soon so there will be another 1000 or so people moving in the area.

I'm hoping the guy will take $2000. He just put it out there the day I saw it so he might want to wait to see if it gets any interest. I haven't seen the trailer or hay rake yet.

I think it's newer than 1962. Square nose came along mid-year 1963. Get a serial number and you can confirm.
Deluxe Seat looks to be in good shape. Front weights (rear weights not shown-maybe he has them), rear work light and red safety light, fast hitch looks complete including pull bar. Tin looks good. Tierods appear fairly straight.
If you can get it for $2k I think you will have done well.
If you can sell your '67 Loboy for $1,000 to $1,200 without any implements or rear weights you will have done well.
My $0.02 worth.

Give your 67 a good bath and cleaning, maybe a little touch up paint wise and sell her on Ebay I think you maybe could break even. There's a lot of people looking for loboys for mowing. A good cleaning, a few squirts of paint here and there and polish up the tires so the pics look purdy...........

I left work to go look at it again and it was gone. Called the guy and he said someone came and bought it. Guess I will have to be quicker on the draw next time.
