Bravery

Postby George Willer » Wed Oct 01, 2008 3:40 pm

My suggestion for a nominee would go to my only D-I-L who just postponed her first appointment with her new oncologist so she could join the road trip tomorrow for my next surgery early Friday morning. She just got the confirmation earlier this week that her biopsy for cancer result was positive. DAMMIT!

George:

I am very sorry to hear the news... and yes of course, another added to the Willer family prayer list. George, Em and I keep you and Marilyin in our prayers all the time. Remember, when we feel really alone and fearful, we truly are not alone, He is with us, always, and when we feel tired and can no longer carry our own burdens, not only does He take up our burdens, HE takes us up with HIM.

We pray that all will go well with the surgery on Friday. We pray that the teams of doctors and technicians will be blessed with all the skills and techniques needed to complete the procedures and remove the affected tissue. We pray that your recovery will be complete and positive and that you will return to good health.

The Lord bless you and keep you!
The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you (+)peace.

Amen, Amen, Amen

George,
Sorry to hear this news. But please, please stay positive. I feel so awkward writing this post because I don't have any great words of wisdom to offer. But remember that people beat cancer every day. I know, I am one of them. God bless, good luck, and hang in there for one another. If you, your D-I-L, or anyone wants to talk about it, just e-mail me.

With prayers,
Bill

Actually Nadine and Steve will be there to comfort Marilyn during the long day of waiting. The surgery itself is expected to take up to 5 hours. There will be four doctors from four different specialties involved. Since it's a teaching hospital there will probably be others present too, since this is an unusual case. I expect to sleep through the whole thing. :D

As far as I know the cancer was killed nearly six years ago. The surgery is to repair some of the damage from incompetent radiation (over)treatment. I'd prefer he had used a shotgun. :( There may have been less damage.

This has been a bad year for our small extended family. Cancer has killed my only BIL in January and his son in April. Nadine is our only DIL.
