H4 mag timing

Postby Phillip W. Lenke » Thu Oct 02, 2008 11:26 am

Timing of the internal gears, how do you know the proper meshing for timing, there are some small letters on the top of the drive that the rotor fits over, and a line carried down the side,it is off a 1940 farmall M distillate.
Thanks Phil

Phil,

The letters are R and L. Which one you use will depend on the rotation of the drive. You may borrow my mag manual some time after I'm back from surgery. I'm expection it to be at least a week.

Thanks George:
On the drive gear ,there is a small cut out lower than the rest, I am assuming that is the reference for alignment, right?
Also, Please make sure Marilyn gives me a call to let Marlee out ,if needed. anything you guy's need while you are recouping, let me know.
