Hello to all, This is the IH potato planter that I plan to rebuild and use with my Cub next year. Rudi, you expressed some interest in this in the past. I have my digital camera working again and would be glad to post any pictures that you or anyone else might want to see of this machine. It is complete and in excellent shape and I think that I will be able to get it working again on my farm. Bob Roraback

Ramon, I am going to try and move it into the barn tonite and I will take some closeups. I do know that it digs a furrow, plants a potato at a set interval and also has a fertilizer hopper, it also hills over the row. I wont know any more specifics until I start to take it apart. As of now I can only push it backward. If I try to pull it forward all of the functions try to work and I am afraid of breaking something. I need to figure out how to make it freewheel. I will keep you posted. Bob

More pictures
Here is some more pictures. I have moved it and started with the Liquid Wrench, I have been able to free up all but two of the functions. Several of the chutes and funnels are sheet metal and will need to be fabricated. The harrow wheels are in decent shape but there is a lot of play in shaft. Does anyone know what was used as a bearing on these? More to come. Bob Roraback

Bob, I would expect it had bronze or brass bushings.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Sorry for not posting earlier, but have been busy trying to get my shop reclaimed from 10 years of hoarding stock After 3 or 4 days I am almost done. Haven't seen my shop that clean in a long, long time.
Nice Potato planter As for more photos - YOU BET Detail pics of workin's would be nice too. Now I have an idea of what to possibly look for..
Glad you were able to free it up a bit.
Been working on my potato digger. Got the hitch done, some of the parts freed up and now I gotta grease and oil the rest. Only need one thing more and that is the chain. Hard to find around here though.
Be nice if I could identify it. The only thing I know about it for sure is that it is a Massey-Harris.
