new chicken coup

Postby smigelski » Tue Oct 14, 2008 7:57 pm

well it was time to build another chicken coup, turned the last chicken condo into a workshop. This 1 is downsized. It is totally built from scrap, window fence and wood. Was all someone else's trash. Did have to buy nails and screws though

must've been a pretty big chicken coop to turn into a workshop!!!!!

how many and what kind chickens do you have? i have 10 rhode island reds and 16 barred rocks

new coop looks good my coop was close to free also got some lumber dumpster diving at work
and used some planks i cut with an Alaskan sawmill on my chainsaw from white pine taken down on my property
then was at the local lumber yard while back and they had 40 yr architectural shingles for $5 a pack ususally $15 or more
so the most money was spent on roof bought $50 worth and did the goat shed also

free or close to free is always great!!!!!!!!!!!

my chicken population changes alot. Last coup was 12X16. made a nice place to work, less to heat in the winter. I currently have some Rhode island reds, buff orphingtons, americanas, and some mix. I have about 25 all together. I sell eggs and chickens. I have a korean that stops by for chickens, I could sell him 20 a week, if I had them.
