Blowing fuses
I am starting to feel like a pest! I have a new factory fresh wiring harness. All the lights work really good. as long as the motor is off. With the motor running It blows the fuse........ every time. Any Ideas? Anybody?

I don't want to sound like a bad guy but something wired wrong is the most logical reason to me after what size fuse?

I agree. Something must not be wired right. If wired correctly, the only circuit fed by the fuse is the lights. Something must be back-feeding through the fuse

I would go thru the wiring first and look for a grounded hot + wire. I would check at the amp gage and follow the feed to the ign key and check those wires too. Something is either grounded or reversed. It has to be in that area.
How is the battery hooked up? + to positive and - to neg?
I've seen this mistake on cars before.....

What size does it need? I have tried 30 amp and 35 amp. By the way did I mention the halogen upgrade. Did you replace both the dash side and engine side of the harness? If memory serves, the head lights typically have a 15 amp fuse.

Hell I don't know I salaved them off of the wing of a cessna 185!! 
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA just kidding. They are the same number as the OEM only wagner halogen. That is all the parts store carried. I assumed that they pulled the same current. Now none of this explains why everthing works fine till the engine reves up. At Idle or with the engine off everything is 5by5.

Hi All. I don't know wht this has do to with the fuse blowing problem. While replacing the PTO belts I decided to replace the battery cables while they were easy to get to. They were not real bad but thatg is a cheap thing to do and the cables looked oem. anyway now the lights work fine! and the fuse dosen't blow anymore. I never had a starting or charging problem. Am I all alone out here. GT

Bad battery cable?
What headlites did you get? I been buying the 4416 headlites but i haven't found the time to install them yet. The brightness is much more than the stock headlites. The brighter the better for me.
Standard tractor headlamp 4411 (12 volts)
35watt usage
2,500 candle power
300hrs life
Optional 4416 headlamp (12 volts)
30watts usage
35.000 candle power
300hrs life
I haven't tried them yet but its less wattage for many times the candle power.
