Lost My Best Friend

Postby rickguns » Fri Feb 06, 2009 7:18 am

This is a picture of my best friend Molly. God blessed me with her for 8 1/2 years of pure joy. She had pneumoia which we were treating her for last week early. Then last Friday she began to hemorhage durring the night. We took her to the Vet. and he reccomended that we do the kind act of letting her go. I had enough love for her to do so. Even at the end as my wife touched her paw and said her name she gave the Golden Retriver smile that she would always give us when she was happy. I have been around Goldens for the last 40 years and she will be my last. I could never find a sweeter Golden then her and it wouldn't be right to expect any other dog to take her place. I trully believe that there is a heaven for dogs and if there is a heaven for me someday I know she will be there waiting.

Rickguns, sorry for your loss, I know what a tough time you must be having dealing with it. My parents have had goldens for 30 years, I have had a few, they are truly great dogs. I have a Llewellin setter that is fast approaching the tough decision time. A 13+ year companion & family member that will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to you and hopefully with time the good memories will ease the loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Rickguns, sorry to hear about your loss. As you know we recently put down our dog as well. It was one of the roughest things i have ever had to do. As they say at saymoed.org our dogs have crossed the bridge and are patiently waiting for our arrival, chasing bunnys and other furry things. The first month was rough, but time does heal all wounds. God bless.

Rick:

That is how Em and I feel about our Great Pyrennes.. Spook. There is no other animal that will be able to take his place .. we are still without a 4 legged friend.... I feel your loss.... the hurt lessens in time, but the memories live on.

Our dogs, truly man's best friend.
