She's a Running.

Postby Harold R » Wed Feb 11, 2009 11:07 pm

The Super C came to life yesterday. I have put in the engine that I rebuilt from the first Super c into the chassis of the second SuperC. It cranked right-up. The timing was a touch off at first, but a minor turn on the distributor,(which is a left over cub unit), and she settle into a nice idle with around 35psi oil pressure. In the pic I have a temporary tank installed, just to make sure my overhaul job was successful. However, after about 15 minutes of run time, I couldn't resist putting a steering wheel on it and taking a spin around the yard. Man what a sweet tractor. This thing steers as if it had power steering. It has a nice cushy ride....very comfortable to drive. Brakes work good,(both), and the transmission works well in all gears with no noise. PTO works fine as well. What a deal!!! Now she's headed back for some steam cleaning around the axle and underside. Tank has been primed and painted, front grill and hood are nearly done. I may try some of that wheel paint for the rear tires.....but the front needs new treads. In another month or so.......I should have some pics of the finished project.

Congrats, I'm sure it was a great feeling to hear her fire up after the rebuild.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Good job, Harold. It's nice to hear them come to life after a long layoff. I hope to hear the sound of my H soon. Just bought a used engine off of an H from the scrap yard. Getting myself ready to try and do a rebuild - my first engine ever, so I'll be posting a lot of questions soon!

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
