Farmall Cub Power Unit????

Postby Cub-Bud » Mon Nov 15, 2004 6:34 pm

I thought the cub units had a different front grill on them. Is this not a A/B power unit :?:

Grills depended some on where it was intended to be used (like combines vs. most anywhere else). From the angle of this picture, you can't tell what model it is. Air intake is right for a Cub engine.

I sent him an email asking for pics and a price....all I got was a price; $750.00. He said if I was still interested he would send me pics. He did refer to it as a cub engine again and I think he knows what he is talking about. His name is Sam Adams. I have a friend here locally that has bought fom Sam several times and made the trip to Texas to pick-up the items. Sam has a very nice spread with everthing a tractor collector could want. My friend refers to Sam's place as "the toy store". I plan on going out there with him over the winter to meet Sam and do a little shopping.

Sam's response to your email isn't surprising. I bought from him once, don't expect to again.

Hey Jim,

Was the experience that bad :?: I have spoken with Sam via email on two occasions. The first time I was inquiring about a B Farmall he had for sale...he never would give me a price. The second time I was inquiring about a one-bottom, pull-type plow to go with my B I bought (not from him) and he never emailed me back.

STRANGE :!:

Just checked my emails.....Sam has sent me several pictures of the power unit...it is definitely a cub engine. It looks good and he says it is running. I remember someone posting a need/want for a cub power unit a while back....this one would be a good one.

I am at the library in town but the pictur on my power unit operating manual looks just like that. I have one but it has a different front and a real radiator.
