I HAVE SWEET POTATOE PLANTS GROWING IN THE HOUSE, (READY TO PLANT OUTSIDE) SEE PICTURE.
DO YOU JUST CUT THE VINE 6" OR 8" AND PLANT OR DO YOU PLANT THE HOLE POTATOE .

Just cut off the shoots with roots and plant.

Sweet potatoes are probably the easiest and most forgiving plant I know.
