Traction Tape

Postby Paul_NJ » Thu Dec 02, 2004 10:09 pm

I recall a relatively recent Cub photo on this site where some sort of black traction tape had been applied to the brake and clutch pedals. Looked like a good way to keep the paint from quickly wearing off, and also improve contact traction. I've looked in my NAPA store, but couldn't find anything like it. Does anyone know what it is and where it is sold?

Thanks

I tried the traction tape on the pedals of my '55 lo-boy. It didn't stay on them very long. You might try the truck bed liner in a spray can.

Might have been mine you saw. I coated the pedals and floor pan with a spray on non-skid paint from ACE/True Value Hardware. Comes in an aerosol can, and seems to be holding up pretty well.

Paul,

If you have a skate board shop anywhere around they should have it. I bought some for my work tractor. Its about 4" wide but you can cut it any width you want. It's also used on stair treads. Might try Home Depot if you have one close by.
Always try the easiest thing first.
