Update on George's surgery May 1

Postby Bigdog » Fri May 01, 2009 8:59 pm

I had this message from George's son when I got back to the motel room this evening:

Darrell,

My Dad's surgery today lasted about three hours. The surgeon found and repaired a problem that might have been causing the pain Dad has recently been experiencing. The surgeon did not complete the procedure originally planned. After repairing the newly-discovered problem he felt Dad was not at this time strong enough for the additional, planned work. The surgeon was able to assess the original issue and expects that he can address it in a few months, after Dad has had the chance to regain some strength.

Mom is staying in Cleveland tonight. My brother, Steve, and sister-in-law, Nadine, were also in Cleveland for the surgery. I'm sure Mom will be in contact with you once she gets back home and has the chance to settle in.

I just wanted to fill you in, since his Cub "family" is so important to Dad.

BigDog thanks for the update...prayers for George and family from Athens,

Corky
I found this old Cub, Forgotten and Forlorn,
With pistons and valves frozen and worn.
Help from my buddies on Farmallcub.com,
And an engine from Ralph, (37’s the one),
Now ole Corky is running and back to life,
Much to the surprise of my dear, dear wife!

Prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery are on the way from the barnyard We most certainly hope this latest discovery is a giant step towards a more complete recovery.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Thanks for the update BD... kinda missed this.. way behind on catching up. Glad to hear that the surgery went well even though what was planned and what occured were two different kettle of fish. Nice to see that the way is paved for possibly and easier path next time around.

Our prayers are with George, Marilyn and family as always (+)
