Woods 59 belt #4152 source

Postby Former Member » Sun Jun 28, 2009 10:11 am

I have 2 woods 59 mowers, one has a belt, the other does not. where does one find the 4152 belt for these, and does anyone know what the length is? Are there multiple sources, and , approximately what do they cost? Is a Woods dealer the only option?

Curious minds want to know. :D

Take the old one to NAPA or almost any parts house. They can get them if they aren't in stock.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Dale
I had a problem getting one for mine from NAPA- To long of a belt for there sources. I went to the local International dealer and he had one. It wasn't to much- I think around 37.99 if I remeber right. I still saved my old one just in case.

This is my opinion from experience. The Woods belt outlasts a generic belt by a large margin. The extra price paid initially for the Woods belt ends up being cheaper than the less expensive belt.

any bearing / seal store or industrial supply store will have or can get it for you. If its a woods 59-C it takes a B-210 inch belt. woods wants $110 for the belt where othere mentioned will be aroung $40 to $50

Same for Kubota. Couldn't get through a season with an aftermarket deck belt. Bought a genuine Kubota belt and replaced it 14 years

Same here Billy Bob. The aftermarket belt (Gates) lasted about 3 hrs.

The neighbor has a Yanmar, with a Woods belly mower, same experience. The Woods belt for it only costs a few bucks more, but lasts about a hundred times longer. I know the Woods belts are Kevlar, but I think there's more to it than that.

Usually if a belt fails it because of improper instillation or abuse. In my many years of experionce with the woods 59 The woods belt last a long time. I have used replacment belts made by goodyear and they last just as long.. I doubt woods make their own belts infact I think Goodyear makes them for woods.I have no proof of this but I have heardit somewhere. I am currently useing a woods 59 on a cub to cut 5 acres of heavy grass. the goodyear belt has been running well for over 8 years. I have had belts brake to. I suspect some junk got into the pulleys causing this.

Last year, I bought a set of new blades for the Woods59 from the local woods dealer. I checked around first, and the blades were the same price as I saw other reputable places (like Carter and Gruenwalt) and not much more expensive than seen on eBay. I wasn't buying them off eBay, no way. The dealer even had the correct blades in stock.

When I need a new belt, I plan to go to the dealer to get it. I haven't priced them yet, but I figure the story will be the same as it was for the blades.

Tractor supply has the correct blades also. I beleive they are slightley thicker and are much harder metal. I got a couple sets for $7.00 for each blade. I dont now what woods wants. everyting I have ever needed is way out of line form them. One time i needed 3 complet spindles. New! It cost me $175 for each complete new spindle. I thought that was out of line!

I use DP Brown of Saginaw MI. I buy the Kevlar belt and have had the one belt on my mower since 1999 and have not had a problem. at that time it was 1/3 the price of woods. I cut 2-3 acres per week.
try to get a good quality kevlar belt.
