Farmall A oil pressure?

I have a 45 A and it runs really strong. when I got it the thing always had great oil pressure. Well needless to say I did something stupid. I had water in the radiator last fall and when I just drained it out for the winter. When spring came I starting cutting grass and ran it for a while and noticed it was acting very hot. Well I promptly shut it off and remembered the water.
Well Now when it is cold it has oil pressure up to about 35-40 pounds (gage reads 0-75) but after 20-30 minutes the oil pressue r is barley above 0. I changed the oil and that didn't help. Should I go to 40 weight or did I really mess it up? It has had a rebuild in the last 8 years. could the sump screen be plugged? oil pump bad or worst case when I got it hot did I mess up the crank bearings enough to make them sloppy having oil pass by them?
any suggestions? This is my grass cutting machine.

Only guessing. Complete tear down. Look at the rod and main bearings as well as the cam bearings. Might get by with just replacing the crank bearings - easy job.

You could try a straight weight oil, either 30 or 40 wt. See what happens - worth a shot.

Another shot in the dark, or two. Check to see that the water pump is circulating coolant. Flush the block - scale may have dropped off the inside of the cooling system over the winter when it dried out.

It wouldn't be the oil pump or screen if you have high oil pressure then it drops when the engine is hot.

drop the oil pan and you should be able to see what is going on. Major two places for that engine is either the bearings (rods and/or mains) or the bottom plate on the oil pump (and unlike the cub, you can get to both through the pan). I tend to suspect the bottom plate on the pump since it seemed to happen quickly rather than just keep getting lower with age? You will see a gasket at the base to bottom plate and it will often blow out along the edge as the plate warps over time, then your oil pressure just leaks out right at the source.

Stan I will check it out makes since since I got it hot when I forgot the coolannt in it!
Its a very strong runner. I have had it 2 summers and it was rebuilt with the 5 years before I got it at a IH dealer ship. I Like it they put in a dipstick for oil checking and added the water pump!
Makes me angry that i did the water thing! time to order a oil pan gasket and pull it!

the 113 engine is wet sleeve, with an 'o' ring at the bottom sealing the water jacket from the oil below. check to be sure you are not getting water in the oil, because the heat generated running dry could have cooked the sealing rings.

let us know what you find, but like Eugene i'm thinking bearing wear.
