Lowboy Tailpipe

Postby Tom Evans » Tue Dec 28, 2004 10:43 am

I've been looking for a new tailpipe for a 1957 International Cub Lowboy. I haven't had much luck yet. Are these available from a Manufacturer or can most muffler shops bend one of these up?

Tom, I believe they are still available.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

As BigDpg said they are still available from case but take your heart medicine before you ask for one they are about $80.
I checked with several muffler shops and they don't have the 1 1/4 pipe
neither do they have the dies to bend the small pipe.

Lowboy Tailpipe

Postby Tom Evans » Wed Dec 29, 2004 3:46 pm

Thanks for the lead, I'll check out the Case International dealer. It looks like part number 362 360 R2 is the one, if all the underslung exhausts pipes are the same. The only other option is to braze up the vacuum wand off my Wife's Electrolux. Probably not restoration quality, but I would have the only Cub with a beater bar attachment. However, a short piece will make a nice chrome tailpipe tip. Thanks again. By the way I plowed the snow last week and my Cub did a great job, even without mounting the chains yet.

Would the beater bar be the vacuum attachment for a flail or sickle mower?
