Farmall A wiring

Postby Dan W. » Mon Aug 17, 2009 9:49 am

My Farmall A has a generator with new volatage regulator. I understand that I should connect the "batt" terminal to the discharge side of the ammeter. Should the "L" terminal connect to the ignition switch? Later when I add a push-pull switch (with fuse) for the lights do I connect it to the "L" terminal?

I can't get my computer to link to Bob Melville's wiring site, so I must ask for answers here. Many thanks.

Dan - yes - run your switch from the L terminal on the regulator. When you wire your light switch you can tie on at the ignition switch rather than run all the way back to the regulator.

Are you trying to link to Bob's diagrams at their new location? He moved them all to Photobucket.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

My wife says I don't listen to her. - - - - - - - - Or something like that!

Bigdog, many thanks. Your reply will make things easier. Yes, I tried Bob's new location on Photobucket but still can't make connection.

Donny -- Thanks for posting the schematic. Nothing like a picture to make things understandable.
