Hey Country,
YOU DONE GOOD
Several questions:
Are you done with the mower
Are you going to mow or show
Do you have a before pic
What dealer is represented on the dealer decal and was the cadet purchased there
Now you done made me want to do a pretty job on my 102.

THANK YOU...THANK YOU ONE AND ALL! (especially Paul Bell...I NEVER would have gotten that darn block on the 3 point lift rod without your GREAT suggestion!).
Cub-Bud...I'm just going to "show" the Model 73 for right now so that leaves me with a 38" mower deck that I really don't need. If you (or any of the other Cadet guys) here need one let me know. I've got the deck, the deck frame and the "mule" gear and belt for it.
The Dealer decal (which I masked over to save) reads as follows: International Harvester Sales & Service Store, 183 Brown Road, Hazelwood, MO ph.731-0437
Here's a TIP that I descovered: For those of you who want a paint that matches IH 102 White...Try Valspar #21935 Almond. It's the white on my Model 73...and a much better match to the IH 102 paint chip on IH Registry...GOOD LUCK with your Cub Cadet restoration!

Hi Elliot: If you have a camera that takes a good picture of the sales decal I would like a copy. The new Cub Cadet Chapter #34 of IH Collectors is going to try to get a record of those sales decals as one of our projects. I know there is a decal maker on the INTERNET that is setup to reproduce the popular triangle sales decal. I made the mistake of sandblasting mine off when I repainted. wdeturck1@netzero.org
The Geezer from IHregistry.com which crashed and is now Cub Cadet Collectors.

John, if you think that's scarey, I used to live in Hazelwood when I worked for McDonnell Douglas.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Grill model 72
to: Country Elliot Is the grill original in your model 73 Cub. If not what type of material did you use. I am rebuilding a model 72 built in March 1968 without headlights or fenders. I was thinking about some type of an expanded metal for the grill.

Beutiful job!
Makes me want one badly... especially now that my POS Craftsman is busted. Only problem is, most of the Cub Cadets that were here were all bought up and trucked back stateside..
I may have a line on a 102 though. Will see in the spring.

Ly134...YES, the grill mesh is the original grill for the model 73. It is a heavu guage steel and rolled over on all sides. It is held in place by 2 spring clips that press through cast holes in the cast iron grill housing and hold the grill mesh straight and taught against the cast grill housing .
I'm currently working on an older Brinly hitch (made in Louisville, KY) that I bought for the Model 73 . When it's done I'll email some pics to BIG DOG, or Dennis for inclusion on the Cub Cadet Photo Album page .
