colour scheme cub cadet

Postby Bruce Sanford » Fri Jun 25, 2004 4:50 pm

I just purchased a Cub Cadet 108 engine serialnumber 4071360 which I believe makes it made betwen 1971 and 1973. It is painted orange on the main body and the hood is painted silver. If it is not factory painted someone went through a lot of work breaking thistractor down ,every piece.I thought these tractors were only painted yellow and cream. The only thing yellpw is the engine.Even the belly mower is orange but the snow blower is white.Any therorys on this they will be appreciated :  :?

Bruce,
Even though someone might have done a great job, the colors are waaaaayyyyy off.
Here's the only paint scheme they had on the 86, 108, 128, 109, 129, 149 and 169 (169 had a short run towards the end of production) that were the models offered at that time.

Bruce...Check out the IH Registry. They have a very helpful section of paint colors for different serial numbers and years of Cub Cadets.

Sorry Bruce...that's at http://www.ihregistry.com My Model 73 Cub Cadet waws made in early Feb. 1971. The hardest color I found to match was the IH 102 White paint. But, after trying several...I found that Valspar #21935 Almond was the closest that I could find. Maybe that color will work for you too?

Not for, or on, Cub Cadets. They were ALL painted yellow and white until the red 82 series came out in July '80. Over the years there were 2 shades of Federal Yellow used (483, 483B), and 3 shades of IH white (901, 902, 935).
