One more time

Postby Yogie » Sun Nov 22, 2009 11:46 pm

Our gun season starts Monday morning so after work Saturday afternoon I picked one of my tree stands to spend the evening in one more time. Bucks are all on the run here now looking for a hot doe. Not my favorite time to hunt since I like a good clean shot but you stay pretty busy watching...
Several passed my way until about 4:30 a nice little 7pt. came in from behind me. I can't hear in the woods so by the time I was ready it was to late for a good shot. This one was like a rabbit dog working the area from top to bottom so about a half hour later he made a pass again. This time I saw him coming and placed a heart shot at just over 20 odd yards away.

My little boy and I spent a few hours today riding the atv around taking down stands and steps before gun season starts in the morning. Thought I'd get them out before someone beat me to it.
Bow seasons still in until the last day of December so I might slip out again after things calm down and everyones gone... :D

Nice.....congrats....fill that freezer for the winter. My buddy makes a venison jerky but i like those venison chops broiled in butter.

hey did a show about the full moon in early november that sets off the timing of the does in the rut. Of course the bucks get stupid at this time too.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.
