need help!Anyone got a good way to get stuck jets out of a Farmall 100 Zenith carb? Soaked for week in carb cleaner(Gunk),soaked for week in PB Blaster, won't budge. Will heat damage carb? Thanks
Re: need help!Is this the main jet accessible from the back of the carb
Re: need help!Donny I have tried good fitting screw drivers with a wrench on square part of driver ,won't budge. I was trying to help a friend out since I have rebuilt my Cub's carb and my uncle's Cub carb, with no trouble. These are really tight!
Re: need help! Before going the ole heat route,---keep in mind that the carb body is luni!---heat can warp them pretty easy!---My question is---WHY are you taking them out?---there is nothing to be gained by removing them!----just soak them with good strong carb cleaner, poke a wire thru them, then blow them out with 175 psi air blow gun!---works every time and nothing gets brok off! thanks; sonny
Re: need help!My friend kind of messed up the jets before I got the carb.I'm not so sure they will work properly now,but I might give it a try anyway. Thanks
Re: need help!OOOOPPPPSSS!!!!---yea! now I see a need for removal!---I dont think easy outs will do the job!---might have to use hand drill and VERY carefully drill part of them out,--then get in there with a sharp pointed pic and clean the threads out---a little heat MIGHT work, but dont overdo it!!! LOL!!!----Put atf/diesel mix around the jets then heat that a bit ---yea it will burn, but it also gets in under the threads ! do this several times and keep trying to turn/wiggle them a little.
sometimes this will loosen them up! thanks; sonny
Re: need help! Thanks for the help. Will try suggestions this weekend. Will let you know if I have success.
Re: need help!I was able to remove jets with heat from soldering iron . I heated up jets with tip and sprayed kroil around jet let cool and repeated several times. Then they backed out. Thanks for the help, guys!
Re: need help! That is an interesting idea on how to pin-point heat on something.Nice idea!!!!

It amazing the things people think up to solve a problem....when I heard put heat on it....I could picture it all melted....very great idea...and it's stored in the vault. Robert
