Spacers for the square nose cub hoodAfter much searching,I came across a union that joins two threaded rods together. It is almost perfect. It comes 1 1/2 inches long and has to be cut down to an inch. The cost is less than $1.50 each. After cutting down, I cut off the end of a 5/16 grade 5 bolt and used loctight to bond it in the sleeve. It is a good fix for the hard to find originals.

Re: Spacers for the square nose cub hoodBoss, I just got a 66 and I'm guessing that you may be talking about the area around the front headlight. The way the hood is pulled in, it has gone through my mind that some sort of spacer is missing. Just a wild guess???? Same thing? Thanks, Doug
Re: Spacers for the square nose cub hoodGood work David, I worked on a few things last night but couldn't come up with anything that pleased me. Looks like you found the perfect fix this time.

Re: Spacers for the square nose cub hoodMy square nose currently has a 6-point socket being used as a spacer on one side, and a stack of washers on the other.
Guess now I've got a reason to hit the local Ace hardware.
