My Dog Steped on My Computer..

Postby ellen » Mon Dec 28, 2009 3:29 pm

No Kidding... In his exuberance to be near me, Gus (the dog) stepped on my laptop. No harm was done, however everything is now bigger. While I'm enjoying reading text of the larger size, (the old eyes aren't what they used to be), any pictures that are posted, such as those on this forum, are cut almost in half (side to side). I can't for the life of me figure out how to "undo" it. Its an HP Pavilion if that helps. (No apple for me) . If anyone can shed some light my way concerning this matter I (and Gus) will be so very grateful..

Ellen - right click anywhere on your desktop. From that menu select "properties". Then click on the tab labeled "settings". On that menu you can set your screen resolution. The higher the setting, the smaller things will be on the desktop. I am running 1280 X 800 on my laptop.

If it is only in Internet Explorer, try Ctrl-(minus).

Ellen, like Jim said, if it is your Internet browser that you are referring to, most all that I know of allow you to zoom in or out by holding control and pushing "+" or "-" respectively. Otherwise "Command" and + /- for us mac guys 8)

Thanks :{_}: That worked. I knew there had to be some easy way after all Gus did it with 1 paw.
Now that I know the secret, I can "zoom" in for the words and " zoom" out for the pictures. The best of both worlds.

Ellen is a long ways away, and when she actually meets me she will feel sorry for an old geezer like me and just ignore me.

I was wondering the same thing. I guess in my "fight" to get him off my computer I must have hit one of the buttons. Who knows I may have hit both of them.
