Super H?

Postby harwich cub » Mon Nov 30, 2009 6:16 pm

Just picked up a new H, It has the high dome pistons does this make it a super H motor? It is stuck and will need a rebuild but I was Just curious becouse my other H has flat top pistons.

Just adding hi-dome pistons does not make it a Super H

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

They may be M&W or another aftermarket piston that was installed to increase horsepower without upgrading to a bigger/newer tractor.

Look at the carb, if it's a large bowl like an "M" it's a super H if it's a small bowl it an "H"

Super H and H carbs won't interchange.

International made a special " carb kit" for H and M tractors. It had a larger main jet and nozzle. This kit was used with the crater piston kits to get full advantage of the increased cubic inches.

My dad still has one of these carb kits.

Like the other guys said its not that simple. Actucally you can not put in a Super H piston 3 1/2" with out boring the block on the H. The H will only except 3 7/16" stock is 3 3/8" if you want more info let me know happy to help

a super H had disc brakes , Live hydraulics. the H engines are a sleved engine . you can install the the 3 7/16 sleve and piston kit. The domed piston is not a IH part LIke mentioned before its a M&W aftermarket kit installed some time back. There are a lot of things than can be done to the H engine . I know someone that has a super H that puts out over 100 HP. of couse it a pulling tractor.

just a little note that only the Stage II Super H's have live hydraulics all stage I have the same system as the H. And you could get a domed piston from the factory if it was ordered with a high altitude package either 5000' or 8000' pistons. The serial number tag will have a code on it if it was orderd with them from fractory.
