My air cleaner is the color of the breather cap in your picture. Not the primer color on the top of your air cleaner. I'll have to get a picture this afternoon if possible.

Hank:

That is a really nice cub. And different with the duallies and the belly mower. Are you going to strip the paint? If so, you might find some interesting decals under the top layers... might prove interesting. Keep posting pics as you go along with this project. Goliath is a good moniker for this Cub.. very nice.

Now we know that there are at least two of these variants residing with board members :)

The first Steep Slope Mowing variant I saw outside of the brochure was at Cecil's CubFest Northeast back in 2006. rondellh brought his latest acquisition to the CubFest and it certainly caught a lot of attention.

I can't remember if rondell got duallies with his Cub or not, maybe Cecil, Carl or Larry might remember. What I do remember is the sound of that Cub and the Mott munching grass... Whoaa... :!:  really serious munching was going on :D

Wow thanks Rudi.

I wonder how hard it would be to track down the correct Mott To reproduce that. Of course then it won't even fit thru my gates.

Here is the picture of the brake linkage asked about earlier.

Image

Two thing I noticed, I removed the battery box on mine for the trip home becuase it was basically only held on by the wires running to the light. It didn't look like any rear light I've seen on a cub, so I figured it was replaced at some point in time. But looking at the pictures of his cub, it's the exact same light. Also, sometimes in the past, somebody must have worked on the front of mine, because the tie rods aren't run correctly.

Thanks for the shot of the brake set up. I'd love to stretch one of my LoBoys (just for fun)

Nice going Gator! Those are truly unique and special Cubs. Several things are really unusual and have already been mentioned, dual reducers, HD steering (tie rods, etc), 15" front tires, inverted finals (longer WB) etc....

Glad it went to a good and loving home!

It is a beefier version of this one in the TM brochures section.

If I poke around I should have some photos of Rondell's Lo Boy. He had swapped out the engine before the fest with one of his other Cubs and it had no trouble cutting the widest swath I have ever seen a Cub cut (6'). Not sure if he still has it.

Hank, after coming across the photos of your tractor and then this thread, I wanted to show you the parts manual that may be of help to you, TC-37F Revision 2 (09-70), page 156 and 159.

Well I ain't been looking for no cubs lately, my girls (daughter & granddaughter) has lost their ford's motor, over the last year.. One an Expedition (5.4) the other recent a Mustang (3.8), both are disabled, awaiting help from POP and others for replacements, my wife had a spare car for the daughter. If it wasn't approaching winter here in Georgia, might just put her on one of the cubs, (she has taken a liken to the lo-boy). But that double-wide just mentioned would sure keep her safe on the road, I'd sure get out of the way, seeing that monster coming. HaHa!!!!Great find from out of state there in Pride LA (Gator809). Georgia Boys let me hear from ya'll, we need to get together and keep this from happening again.

Since Gator snuck this one out of Georgia almost two years ago, I think the fellas in the area have become a little more suspicious of out of state visitors.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I missed this question when it was posted. If I had seen it, I wouldn't have had an answer for it anyway.

But now I do. The same steering wheel was used on 403 combines through serial number 7223 amd 503 combines through 2431. They had different center caps because the combines had power steering.

Thanks Jim. I think the one on mine is from a Chevy Vega ATM.

59 Loboy, I lived in Dahlonega GA for 5 years, before I moved back home to Louisiana. I had been back home for abouts a year when I saw it and got it. It came from Murphy NC, and I actually worked a job about 10 minutes from where it lived.

So it's not really stolen from GA, just "borrowed"

It's been sitting in the corner of my shed, ready to come out an play a couple of times a year. But I haven't done much with it. My little boy is gonna be 5 in June, and I plan for it to be a father-son restoration project.

There are a whole lotta Cubs in RI.... but the swamp yankees want too much $$ for em! I have no trouble fetching Cubs across state lines, even the Mason-Dixon line!

My last Cub came from FLA (just found the tires are loaded... with WATER) but that isn't the 'real' south

That Cub will be a great project with your son, it will teach you both a lot. Just be sure to get a 'little man' set of safety glasses for him.
